I have been using my "tester" as a mail bag when I go to the post office to ship your orders out! I can attest to the fact that I have loaded this unlined, un-interfaced bag with over 5kg and its been good to go although the handles stretch a little with that much weight. For a floppy shopping bag though, its perfect!
